During her undergraduate studies at UConn, she raised a guide dog puppy and learned about public access issues and about what it takes to raise and train a future service dog. During veterinary school, she remained passionate about service and working dogs and completed an externship at a large guide dog school in the area where she was exposed to the breeding program, whelping care, and general veterinary needs of these dogs at all stages of their journeys.
After graduation, she will be working for the US Army providing veterinary care to hundreds of military working dogs and other government-owned working dogs. In her free time, she enjoys running and hiking with her two Labrador Retrievers.
