  • A medical alert or response service dog is a service dog that has been trained to alert to an oncoming medical condition (this is condition dependent) or trained to respond to medical episodes or symptoms. These tasks may include, but are not limited to, alerting to a low or high blood sugar, retrieving medication, providing deep pressure therapy, and more.

  • As a small, newly founded organization, our current waitlist is one and a half to three years for a fully trained service dog. As of May, 2026 we are currently only accepting applications for diabetic alert dogs.

  • It is estimated to cost $60,000-75,000 to fully train and place a service dog. While we rely heavily on public, charitable donations, we currently ask clients to donate a fee of $25,000 dollars. Once clients have fundraised this fee, they are eligible to be matched with one of our wonderful dogs!

  • We do not owner train service dogs, however we can point you in the right direction for trainers that do! Check out www.centrestagedogtraining.com for information on owner training

  • We primarily train Labrador retrievers. We train medical alert and response dogs, as well as facility dogs for professionals who want to add a dog to their patient care.

  • Our dogs come from ethical breeders who breed for health and temperament. Breeders are required to do genetic and breed specific health testing as well as early puppy socialization. If you are a breeder interested in donating a puppy to our program, please contact us at contact@centrestageservicedogs.com
